Redfish
These fish offer a BIG fight, and the coolest thing is their spots that give them unique characteristics. There is a possibility of catching one of these throughout the year. Typically we will tighten the drags down as you prepare to go to battle with these studs. The month of October is well known for chasing down large schools of bull reds that are migrating off the beach.
King Mackerel
These fish are known for making drags scream! King mackerel have a lot of fight and energy, and always bring big smiles to faces. They are commonly caught in the summer months leading into early fall. We target these fish with live bait and light tackle. Be sure to ask about our smoked mackerel dip recipe when you catch one!
Speckled Trout
These fish offer a good fight with sudden burst of strength. There are several different techniques used to target these fish depending on the time of the year. They are considered trophy fish by many and can be found in many different areas ranging from shallow grass-flats to deeper holes.
Sheepshead
Sheepshead are fun to catch and can make a very tasty meal. The fishing for these guys is usually red hot in the spring time, beginning early march into mid April. In the winter time you may also stumble upon a decent sheepshead bite as well. It is rare to catch any outside of those time frames. We like to call these guys convict fish because of the distinct black bars they have.
Spanish Mackerel
These fish can get into a feeding frenzy and provide anglers with lots of fun-filled action. They fight as good as any fish pound for pound, and are good to eat when fresh. We target Spanish with live-bait while holding the rod so you can feel the impact as soon as they bite! Hold on tight!
Mangrove Snapper
Mangrove snapper, a.k.a black-snapper, a.k.a grey-snapper, have a keen eyesight making them challenging to hook at times. With different techniques you can be successful at landing some of these fish. Although they can be caught year-round, they are mainly targeted late -summer. They have sharp teeth that look like vampire fangs!
